Maritime Museum
The Long Island Maritime Museum is located in West Sayville, on the grounds of Meadowedge, a Suffolk County Park and the former estate of Mr. & Mrs. Anson Wales Hard. Included in our collection are three National Historic Landmarks: The Rudolph Oyster House and the oystering vessels, Modesty and Priscilla. Now fully-restored, instead of oysters, Priscilla carries passengers, offering a fun and unique way to experience our maritime heritage. Additional buildings include boat building shops, a small craft exhibiton hall and our historic bayman’s cottage. Tours are available throughout the year and numerous special, notably our Seafood Festival, take place from May through October.
